HomeMy WebLinkAbout023760 ORD - 09/14/1999ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $66,912 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND TO FUND A SAFE AND SOBER SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROJECT (STEP) BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $66,912 is appropriated in the No. 1050 Federal/State Grants Fund from the Texas Department of Transportation to fund a Safe and Sober Selective Traffic Enforcement Project (STEP) by the Police Department. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this mance is pa ed and shal take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of ATTEST: Armando Chapa, City Secretary 999.
