HomeMy WebLinkAbout023882 RES - 12/21/1999RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $68,763 TO THE STATE OF TEXAS, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, FOR A VICTIM CASE MANAGER PRIMARILY FUNDED BY THE VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT FUND. WHEREAS, the Victim Assistance Program is beneficial to the citizens of Corpus Christi by providing information, reassurance, guidance for resolving problems, and referrals to other social service agencies to crime victims and their family, with the goal of lessening the short and long term trauma experienced as a direct result of victimization; and WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi recognizes the need for the Victim Assistance Program; and WHEREAS. in the event of the loss or misuse of these Criminal Justice Division funds, the city of Corpus Christi assures that funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi hereby authorizes the submission of a grant application in the amount of $68,763 to the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division, for primary funding for a Victim Assistance Program Case Manager from the Victims of Crime Act Fund.
