HomeMy WebLinkAbout023883 RES - 12/21/1999RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $73,363 TO THE STATE OF TEXAS, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, FOR A VICTIM CASE MANAGER PRIMARILY FUNDED BY THE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT FUND. WHEREAS, the Family Violence Unit is beneficial to the citizens of Corpus Christi by providing someone to convey information about alternative, available services, protective orders and referrals to other social service agencies to crime victims and their family to avoid continued violence; and WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi recognizes the need for providing educational opportunities to the community through speaking engagements, public service announcement, distribution of literature, etc.; and WHEREAS, in the event of the loss or misuse of these Criminal Justice Division funds, the city of Corpus Christi assures that funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi hereby authorizes the submission of a grant application in the amount of $73,363 to the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division, for primary funding for a Victim Assistance Program Case Manager by the Violence Against Women Act Fund.
