ADOPTING THE ANNEXATION PLAN REQUIRED BY
SECTION 43.052, LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE.
WHEREAS, Section 17(b) requires each municipality to adopt an annexation plan, as
required by Section 43.052, Local Government Code, on or before December 31, 1999,
that becomes effective on December 31, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the annexation plan requirement in Section 43.052 does not apply to any
annexations the are finalized prior to December 31, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi has no current plans to annex any areas within
its extraterritorial jurisdiction that are subject to annexation plan requirements of Section
43.052 after December 31, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the Annexation Plan of the City of Corpus Christi does not effect the City's
ability to annex areas in the future that are, under the provisions of Section 43.052(h),
exempt from the requirement to be included in an annexation plan prior to annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The Annexation Plan of the City of Corpus Christi, as required by Section
43.052, Local Government Code, shall read as follows:
"The City of Corpus Christi has no current plans to annex any areas within its
extraterritorial jurisdiction, which are required to be included in an annexation plan by
the provisions of Section 43.052, Local Government Code, after December 31, 2002."
