APPROPRIATING $348,509 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE,
BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE
GRANTS FUND TO PURCHASE MARKED VEHICLES AND LAW
ENFORCEMENT EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT;
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $38,723 FROM THE NO. 6010 LAW
ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND AND APPROPRIATING IT IN THE NO.
1050 FEDERAL/STATE G1LatNTS FUND AS THE GRANT MATCH; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That $348.509 from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice
Assistance is appropriated in the No. 1050 Federal/State Grants Fund to purchase marked vehicles
and law enforcement equipment for the Police Department.
SECTION 2. Authorizing the transfer of $38~723 from the No. 6010 l.a~v Enforcement
Trust Fund and appropriating it in the No. 1050 Fcderal/State Grants Fund as the grant match.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate
action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the
Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clanse of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists requiring
suspension of the Chaffer rale as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regalar meetings: 1/we,
therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
iutroduccd. or at the present meeting of the City Council.
