AUTHORIZING APPEAL BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI OF
THE PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION OF TEXAS DECISION IN THE
COMMISSION'S DOCKET NO. 21528, CENTRAL POWER AND
LIGHT COMPANY SECURITIZATION CASE.
WHEREAS, Corpus Christi and other cities participated in Public Utility Commission of
Texas Docket No. 21528, the Central Power and Light Securitization case; and
WHEREAS, the final order of the PUCT in Docket No. 21528 is adverse to cities and
electric customers, and grounds for appeal exist which should be pursued in the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Steering Committee of Cities served by CPL has recommended appeal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Appeal by the City of Corpus Christi, along with other cities represented by
CPL Cities Steering Committee, in PUCT Docket No. 21528, is hereby authorized.
SECTION 2. The City authorizes the CPL Cities Steering Committee to select and
supervise utilities attomey Geoffrey Gay and the law finn of Lloyd, Gosselink, Blevins, Rochelle,
Baldwin & Townsend, P.C., and other qualified consultants, to represent and advise participating
cities regarding said proceedings and any related proceedings.
SECTION 3. It is specifically traderstood that the City's participation will not necessitate
expenditure of any City funds. Central Power and Light Company shall pay the reasonable cost of
attorneys and consultants upon presentation of invoices by the Steering Committee in accordance
with the Texas Public Utility Regulatory Act.
SECTION 4. The City Secretary is hereby directed to deliver a copy of this Resolution to
Central Power and Light Company.
