AUTHORIZING INTERVENTION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI IN PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION OF TEXAS PROJECT
NO. 20935, IMPLEMENTATION OF H.B. 1777.
WHEREAS, Southwestem Bell Telephone Company (SWB) and GTE Southwest
Incorporated (GTE) have filed with the Public Utility Commission of Texas in Project No. 20935
(Implementation of H.B. 1777) pleadings regarding base amounts and allocations of access fees in
numerous cities, including Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, the base amounts and allocations filed by Corpus Christi, as amended, are fully
consistent with Chapter 283, Texas Local government Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Intervention, by the City of Corpus Christi in PUCT Project No. 20935 to
defend against any assertions of SWB, GTE, or others, is hereby authorized and directed.
SECTION 2. The City authorizes attorney Geoffrey Gay and the law firm of Lloyd,
Gosselink, Blevins, Rochelle, Baldwin & Townsend, P.C., and other qualified consultants, to
represent and defend the interest of the City in said proceedings.
