HomeMy WebLinkAbout024015 RES - 04/25/2000RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $160,322 TO THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR FUNDING ELIGIBLE UNDER THE FY 1999 JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY INCENTIVE BLOCK GRANTS PROGRAM TO REDUCE JUVENILE DELINQUENCY, IMPROVE THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM, AND INCREASE THE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR JUVENILE OFFENDERS. WHEREAS, the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grants Program is beneficial to the citizens of Corpus Christi by reducing juvenile delinquency, improving the juvenile justice system, and increasing the accountability for juvenile offenders; and WHEREAS, in the event of the loss or misuse of these Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Corpus Christi assures that funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRIST1, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi hereby authorizes the submission of a grant application in the amount of $ 160,322 to the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for funding eligible under the FY 1999 Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grants Program to reduce juvenile delinquency, improve the juvenile justice system, and increase the accountability for juvenile offenders.
