Home My WebLink About024083 ORD - 06/27/2000 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE A TWENTY YEAR LEASE WITH THE TEXAS STATE AQUARIUM ASSOCIATION ("LESSEE"), IN CONSIDERATION OF LESSEE MAINTAINING THE PREMISES AND IMPROVEMENTS, OPERATING A PUBLIC AQUARIUM AND RELATED FACILITIES, AND RETAINING ALL FINANCING COVENANTS UNTIL THE RELATED INDEBTEDNESS IS FULLY RETIRED (INCLUDING MAKING PAYMENTS WHEN REQUIRED), FOR LOTS A-I, A-2, B, C, & D, TEXAS STATE AQUARIUM SUBDIVISION AND AN ASSIGNMENT OF CERTAIN PROPERTY ON RINCON CHANNEL OWNED BY THE PORT OF CORPUS CHRISTI AUTHORITY AND LEASED TO THE CITY; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute a twenty year lease with the Texas State Aquariwn Association ("Lessee") for Lots A-I, A-2, B, C, & D, Texas State Aquariwn Subdivision and an assignment of certain property on Rincon Channel owned by the Port of Corplis Christi Authority and leased to the City, in consideration of Lessee maintaining the Premises and Improvements, operating a public aquariwn and related facilities, and retaining all financing covenants until the related indebtedness is fully retired (including making payments when required). A copy of the lease is on file with the City Secretary. SECTION 2. Publication will be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
