HomeMy WebLinkAbout024212 ORD - 09/12/2000ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $13,990,000 FROM THE PROCEEDS OF THE SALE OF COMBINATION TAX AND REVENUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION, SERIES 2000 IN THE NO. 3411, SANITARY LANDFILL 2000 CIP FUND TO PURCHASE PROPERTY FOR A NEW LANDFILL, PAY FOR FINAL COVER COST, REPAY ADVANCES FROM THE UTILITY SYSTEM FUNDS, AND PERFORM CERTAIN STREET IMPROVEMENTS APPROVED IN THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $13,990,000 is hereby appropriated from the proceeds of the sale .of Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation, Series 2000 in the No. 3411, Sanitary Landfill 2000 CIP Fund to purchase property for a new landfillt pay for final cover cost, repay advances from the Utility System funds, and perform certain street improvements approved in the Capital Improvement Plan. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached. the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that th's ' ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the I~~l'x day of ~')4Lrh%~)~C 2000.
