HomeMy WebLinkAbout024285 RES - 11/21/2000RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO APPLY TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE FOR A THREE-YEAR $750,000 TITLE V DELINQUENCY PREVENTION GRANT TO ENHANCE MUNICIPAL COURT PROCESSING AND TRACKING OF STATUS OFFENDERS AND JUVENILE ASSESSMENT CENTER CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO AT-RISK YOUTH. WHEREAS, the Pre-Delinquency Court and Case Management Project is beneficial to the public safety of the citizens of Corpus Christi by decreasing juvenile crime by helping at-risk families connect with the services they need to help their children avoid delinquency and become productive citizens of the community; and WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi recognizes the need for a Pre-Delinquency Court and Case M[anagement Project; and WHEREAS, in the event of the loss or misuse of these Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Corpus Christi assures that funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi hereby authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to apply to the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor's Office for a three-year $750,000 Title V Delinquency Prevention Grant to enhance Municipal Court processing and tracking of status offenders and Juvenile Assessment Center case management services to at-risk youth.
