AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
CHAPTER 21, GARBAGE, TRASH, AND OTHER REFUSE, TO
AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT REDUCED TIPPING
FEES FOR DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE AT THE CITY'S LANDFILL;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 21-41 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, is
amended by adding subsections (f) and (g) to read as follows:
Sec. 21-41. Charges -- For disposal services.

(f) The Citv Manaoer is authorized to adiust the commercial tiooino fees at the City's
landfill established in Section 21-41 (e)(2)(A) based on market comoetition.
(0) The City Manaoer. or the City Manaoer's desionee. mav contract with a solid waste
hauler. other oolitical entitv. entitv with an industrial district contract with the Citv. or
entitv that oenerates solid waste outside the citv limits for the disoosal of soecified
volumes of solid waste at a citv ooerated disoosal facilitv.
ill The term of anv such contract shall not exceed six months. and
ill All haulers and Qenerators of solid waste shall be afforded the same terms
and conditions on such contracts on a fair and equitable basis. and the
same oooortunitv for discounts.

SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final
judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section,
paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the
definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus
Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
