HomeMy WebLinkAbout024430 ORD - 04/24/2001ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $66,277.17 IN INTEREST EARNINGS FROM THE UNRESERVED FUND BALANCE IN THE NO. 1050-820896 LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT 1996 GRANT FUND TO PURCHASE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; APPROPRIATING $448.62 IN INTEREST EARNINGS FROM THE UNRESERVED FUND BALANCE IN THE NO. 1050-820898 LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT 1998 GRANT FUND TO PURCHASE LAW ENFORCEMENT EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND, APPROPRIATING $16,573.04 IN 1NTEREST EARNINGS FROM THE UNRESERVED FUND BALANCE IN THE NO. 1050-820899 LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT 1999 GRANT FUND TO PURCHASE LAW ENFORCEMENT EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $66,277.17 in interest earnings is appropriated from the Unreserved Fund Balance in the No. 1050-820896 Law Enforcement Block Grant 1996 grant fund to purchase computer equipment for the Police Department. SECTION 2. That $448.62 in interest earnings is appropriated from the Unreserved Fund Balance in the No. 1050-820898 Law Enforcement Block Grant 1998 grant fund to purchase law enforcement equipment for the Police Department. SECTION 3. That $16,573.04 in interest earnings is appropriated from the Unreserved Fund Balance in the No. 1050-820899 Law Enforcement Block Grant 1999 grant fund to purchase law enforcement equipment for the Police Department. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this_, ordinance isj~assed ~d takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of ~ ~ ~ , 2001.
