AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $512,685 TO THE TEXAS AUTOMOBILE THEFT
PREVENTION AUTHORITY TO ESTABLISH A MOTOR VEHICLE
THEFT ENFORCEMENT TEAM AND IMPLEMENT A PUBLIC
AWARENESS CAMPAIGN IN AN EFFORT TO REDUCE AUTO THEFTS
IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND NUECES COUNTY
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to submit a grant application
in the amount of $512,685 to the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority to establish a motor
vehicle theft enforcement team and implement a public awareness campaign in an effort to reduce
auto thefts in the City of Corpus Christi and Nueces County.
