HomeMy WebLinkAbout024479 ORD - 06/19/2001ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $5,884 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL DIVISION, HAZARD COMMUNICATIONS BRANCH IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND FOR THE CORPUS CHRISTI-NUECES COUNTY LOCAL EMERGENCY PLANNING COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT PLANNING AND RESPONSE ACTIVITIES UNDER THE EMERGENCY PLANNING AND COMMUNITY RIGHT-TO-KNOW ACT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $5,884 from the Texas Department of Health, Toxic Substances Control Division, Hazard Communications Branch is appropriated in the No. 1050 Federal/State Grants Fund for the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Local Emergency Planning Committee to conduct planning and response activities under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is_Passed and takes effect upon firs.t reading as an emergency measure on this the Ic~'t~ay of ~_~-i~ t".~ ,2001.
