HomeMy WebLinkAbout024583 ORD - 09/18/2001ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $31,365 IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR FOURTH YEAR FUNDING OF THE GANG ANALYSIS UNIT OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; TRANSFERRING $39,679 FROM THE NO. 1020 GENERAL FUND AND APPROPRIATING IT IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND AS MATCHING FUNDS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $31,365 is hereby appropriated in the No. 1050 Federal/State Grants Fund from the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for fourth year funding of the Gang Analysis Unit of the Police Department. SECTION 2. That $39,679 is hereby transferred from the No. 1020 General Fund and appropriated in the No. 1050 Federal/State Grants Fund as matching funds. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinancefixs pa~s.se.d.~a,nq,,~t~kes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of ~_~la, g,t/4~ , 2001.
