HomeMy WebLinkAbout024647 ORD - 10/30/2001ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $468,750 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, OFFICE OF COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING SERVICES, IN THE NO. 1050 STATE AND FEDERAL GRANT FUND TO PURCHASE MOBILE COMPUTING UNITS, PERSONAL COMPUTERS, CRIME ANALYSIS SOFTWARE AND VIDEO 1MAGING SOFTWARE FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $156,250 FROM THE NO. 6010 LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND TO AND APPROPRIATING 1N THE NO. 1050 STATE AND FEDERAL GRANT FUND AS THE GRANT MATCH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $468,750 is appropriated from the U. S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, in the No. 105 State and Federal Grant Fund to purchase mobile computing units, personal computers, crime analysis software and video imaging software for the Police Department. SECTION 2. That $156,250 is transferred from the No. 6010 Law Enforcement Trust Fund to and appropriated in the No. 1050 State and Federal Grant Fund as the grant match. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance i~passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the ,,~4D day of t ~O~tf)~)~-..~ , 2001. - ATTEST: Armando Chapa City Secretary APPROVED James R.
