REQUESTING THE TEXAS NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION
COMMISSION, AS THE STATE AIR POLLUTION CONTROL AGENCY,
TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY FOR A $100,000 MOBILE
SOURCE OUTREACH ASSISTANCE GRANT, WHICH WILL BE
ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AS PART OF
THE REGION'S POLLUTION PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP, AND THE
AIR QUALITY RESEARCH AND PLANNING PROGRAM, AND USED
TO FUND A REMOTE VEHICLE EMISSIONS SENSOR TO BE
PURCHASED, OPERATED, AND MAINTAINED BY TEXAS A & M
KINGSVILLE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, is authorized to submit
a request to the Texas Natural Resources Conservation Commission, as the State air
pollution control agency, to submit a grant application to the United States
Environmental Protection Agency for a $100,000 mobile source outreach assistance
grant, which will be administered by the City of Corpus Christi, as part of the Region's
pollution prevention partnership, and the air quality research and planning program, and
used to fund a remote vehicle emissions sensor to be purchased, operated, and
maintained by Texas A & M Kingsville.
