HomeMy WebLinkAbout024852 ORD - 04/30/2002ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $54,303 GRANT FROM THE CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL SERVICE IN THE NO. 1050 STATE AND FEDERAL GRANTS FUND FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE 1T ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRIST1, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That a grant from the Corporation for National Service in the amount of $54,303 for the continuation of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is appropriated in the No. 1050 State and Federal Grants Fund. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance ~pfi~s~ed a~d takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the ~_~ay of bLi-J ~ , 2002.
