HomeMy WebLinkAbout024882 ORD - 05/21/2002ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $462,181 FROM INCREASED REVENUES OF THE HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FUND AND TRANSFERRING THE FULL AMOUNT TO THE GENERAL FUND TO BE USED FOR BEACH MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY OF NEWLY ANNEXED PROPERTY ON MUSTANG ISLAND; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 024528 WHICH ADOPTED THE FY2001-02 BUDGET BY INCREASING BOTH REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $462,181 IN THE HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $462,181 is appropriated from increased revenues of the Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund and transferring the full amount to the General Fund to be used for beach maintenance and safety of newly annexed property on Mustang Island. SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 024528 which adopted the FY2001-02 Budget is amended to increase both revenues and appropriations by $462,181 in the Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that th.is ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the ~/':YCday of '~"klgOv~r-, , 2002.
