HomeMy WebLinkAbout024908 ORD - 06/18/2002ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $26,521 FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND FOR CONTINUATION FUNDING AVAILABLE UNDER THE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT (VAWA) FUND; TRANSFERRING $3,769 FROM THE NO. 6010 LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND AND APPROPRIATING IT IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND AS GRANT MATCHING FUNDS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $26,521 is appropriated from the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division in the No. 1050 Federal/State Grants Fund for continuation funding available under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) fund. SECTION 2. That $3,769 is transferred from the No. 6010 Law Enforcement Trust Fund and appropriated in the No. 1050 Federal/State Grants Fund as grant matching funds. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance i,s passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the ! ~ day of ,2002.
