HomeMy WebLinkAbout024934 ORD - 07/09/2002AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AN IN-TERMINAL ADVERTISING CONCESSION LEASE AGREEMENT WITH IN-TER-SPACE SERVICE, INC., DBA INTERSPACE AIRPORT ADVERTISING FOR THE OPERATION OF AN AIRPORT ADVERTISING CONCESSION 1N THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 1N CONSIDERATION OF PAYMENT OF THE GREATER OF A GUARANTEED MINIMUM CONCESSION FEE OR THIRTY PERCENT OF THE CONCESSIONAIRE'S GROSS RECEIPTS FOR A TERM OF UP TO TWELVE MONTHS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute an In-Terminal Advertising Concession lease agreement with In-ter-space Service, Inc. dba Interspace Airport Advertisiing for the operation of an Airport Advertising Concession in the Corpus Christi International Airport in consideration of payment of the greater of a guaranteed minimum concession fee or thirty percent of the Concessionaire's gross monthly revenues for a term of up to twelve months. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance i.s~ssed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the C~'~ay of , )Il i{A .2002.
