AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO
EXECUTE FIVE RENTAL CAR CONCESSION LEASE AGREEMENTS
WITH SOUTHWEST TEXAS LEASING CO., 1NC. DBA ADVANTAGE
RENT-A-CAR, 1NC., COASTAL BEND RENT-A-CAR, INC., NATIONAL
CAR RENTAL OF CORPUS CHRISTI, INC., DOLLAR RENT-A-CAR
SYSTEMS, INC., AND TEXAS SOUTH RENTALS, INC. DBA HERTZ CAR
RENTAL FOR THE OPERATION OF A CAR RENTAL CONCESSION AT
THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN
CONSIDERATION OF PAYMENT OF THE GREATER OF A
GUARANTEED MINIMUM CONCESSION FEE OR TEN PERCENT OF
THE CONCESSIONAIRE'S GROSS MONTHLY REVENUES FOR A TERM
OF UP TO TWELVE MONTHS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute
five Rental Car Concession Lease agreements with Southwest Texas Leasing Co., Inc. dba
Advantage Rent-A-Car, Coastal Bend Rent-A-Car, Inc., National Car Rental of Corpus Christi,
Inc., Dollar Rent-A-Car Systems, Inc., and Texas South Rentals, Inc. dba Hertz Car Rental for
the operation of a Car Rental Concession at the Corpus Christi International Airport in
consideration of payment of the greater of a guaranteed minimum concession fee or ten percent
of the Concessionaire's gross monthly revenues for a term of up to twelve months.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances
at two regular meetings so that th/,s ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency exists
requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two
regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
