HomeMy WebLinkAbout024977 ORD - 08/20/2002AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $449,736 FROM THE TEXAS AUTOMOBILE THEFT PREVENTION AUTHORITY (ATPA) IN THE NO. 1050 STATE AND FEDERAL GRANT FUND; AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $22,900 FROM THE NO. 6010 LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND TO, AND APPROPRIATING $22,900 IN THE NO. 1050 STATE AND FEDERAL GRANT FUND AS THE GRANT MATCH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $449,736 from the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA) is appropriated in the No. 1050 State and Federal Grant Fund to continue the motor vehicle theft enforcement grant within the Police Department. SECTION 2. That $22,900 is authorized to be transferred from the No. 6010 Law Enforcement Trust Fund to, and appropriated in, the No. 1050 State and Federal Grant Fund as matching grant funds. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinanc~lis' pas_sea and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the ~'~lQ'~ay of ~, 2002.
