HomeMy WebLinkAbout024984 ORD - 08/27/2002AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING GRANT PROCEEDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $115,000 FROM U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY INTO THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND FOR A VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT OF THE CITY'S WATER SYSTEM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $115,000 is appropriated from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency into the No. 1050 Federal/State Grants Fund for a vulnerability assessment of the City's Water System. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter role that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinancRis passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the ,rk~rl~ay of D~k~ ,2002.
