HomeMy WebLinkAbout025020 ORD - 09/17/2002ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $5,000 FROM THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE GRANTS FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF FURNITURE AND PRESERVATION SUPPLIES FOR THE LOCAL HISTORY DEPARTMENT OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI PUBLIC LIBRARIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $5,000 is appropriated from the National Endowment for the Humanities in the No. 1050 Federal/State grants fund for the purchase of furniture and preservation supplies for the history department of the Corpus Christi Public Libraries. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordin~aflce is passed and tal~e~ _effect upon reading as an emergency measure this the ~hy of ~,1'~.[ first ATTEST: THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI City Secretary Mayor Legal form approved James R.
