HomeMy WebLinkAbout025108 ORD - 11/19/2002ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $85,000 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE GRANT FUND FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPREHENSIVE ALL-HAZARD MITIGATION ACTION PLAN; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $85,000 from the Texas Department of Public Safety Division of Emergency Management is appropriated in the No. 1050 Federal/State Grant Fund for the development of a comprehensive all-hazards mitigation action plan. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance i~:~ssed and takes effect ul~n first reac~ing_as an emergency measure on this the ~ '~ 8ay of ~ ~ ~%L~,~.~ ,2002.
