APPROPRIATING $1,500,000 FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED FUND
BALANCE OF THE NO. 4050 CHOKE CANYON DAM MAINTENANCE
RESERVE FUND INTO THE NO. 4080 WATER CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR MAINTENANCE OF THE CHOKE CANYON
DAM, AS REQUIRED BY THE BUREAU OF RECLAMATION;
AMENDING ORDINANCE 024730, AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED,
WHICH APPROVED THE FY 2002-03 CAPITAL BUDGET, BY
INCREASING THE AMOUNT APPROVED BY $1,500,000; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That $1,500,000 from the unappropriated fund balance of the No. 4050
Choke Canyon Dam Maintenance Reserve Fund is appropriated into the No. 4080
Water Capital Improvement Fund for maintenance of the Choke Canyon Dam, as
required by the Bureau Of Reclamation
SECTION 2. That Ordinance 024730, as previously amended, which approved the
FY 2002-03 Capital Budget, by increasing the amount approved by $1,500,000.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need fo~
immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs
and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon
ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect
up,on, first reading as an emergency measure on this the i I'i~ 'day of

emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or
at the present meeting of the City Council.
