HomeMy WebLinkAbout025191 ORD - 02/11/2003ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $60,000 FROM THE TEXAS GENERAL LAND OFFICE IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAL/STATE GRANT FUND TO DEVELOP ENGINEERING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE UNIVERSITY MARINA BEACH PARK LOCATED ON OCEAN DRIVE ADJACENT TO TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY-CORPUS CHRISTI AND TO CONDUCT BEACH SURVEYS TO MONITOR THE BEACH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $60,000 fi~om thc Texas Gcneral Land Officc is appropriated in the No. 1050 Federal/State Grant Fund to develop engineering plans and specifications for public access to the University Marina Bcach Park located on Ocean Drive adjacent to Tcxas A&M University-Corpus Christi and conduct beach surveys to monitor the beach. SECTION 2. That upon xvritten request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an cmergency due to the need for immcdiate action necessary for thc efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is p_a. ssed and takes effect upon first reading as all emergcncy measure this the ii~'day of t47~/~)X',,~!i ~q i2003.
