HomeMy WebLinkAbout025247 ORD - 03/25/2003AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $22,240.00FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IN THE NO. 1050 FEDERAUSTATE GRANTS FUND FOR HAZARDOUS MATERIALS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLANNING ACTIVITIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BElT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $22,240.00 from the Texas Department of Public Safety Division of Emergency Management is appropriated in the No. 1050 Federal/State Grants Fund for hazardous materials emergency preparedness planning activities. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency this the 25th day of March, 2003.
