HomeMy WebLinkAbout025296 ORD - 05/13/2003ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES SECTION 53-254, SCHEDULE V, 1NCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES, BY REVISING THE SPEED LIMITS ON THE FOLLOWING STREET SECTION: On Callicoatte Road, (F.M. 1694) revising the existing speed limits to the following: 45 mph from IH37 Northbound Frontage Road, south 1.391 miles (7,344.48') to the City Limit Line. PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi is amended by amending Section 53-254, Schedule V, Increase of state speed limit in certain zones, by revising the speed limits on the following street section: On Callicoatte Road, (F.M. 1694) revising the existing speed limits to the following: 45 mph from IH37 Northbound Frontage Road, south 1.391 miles to the City Limit Line. CHAPTER 53 TRAFFIC ARTICLE VIII. SCHEDULES Sec. 53-254. Schedule V, increase of state speed limit in certain zones. Callicoatte Road (~A~ 1694): ....... v ..... If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi as required by City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 4. Penalties are as provided in Sec. 53-55 Code of Ordinances.
