HomeMy WebLinkAbout025448 ORD - 08/26/2003ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A GRANT FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN THE[ AMOUNT OF $249,939 FOR PERSONNEL, FRINGE BENEFITS, TRAVEL, SUPPLIES, AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS EXPENSES TO ASSIST IN UPGRADING TO A LEVEL B LABORATORY IN THE NO. 1066 HEALTH GRANTS FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That a grant from the Texas Department of Health in the amount of $249,939 is appropriated in the No. 1066 Health Grants Fund for personnel, fringe benefits, travel, supplies, and other miscellaneous expenses to assist in upgrading to a Level B Laboratory. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is p~scd and takes e~e.ct upon §rst ~day of ATTEST: Armando Chapa City Secretary reading as an emergency measure this the ,2003.
