APPROPRIATING Ai GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $803,589
FROM THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING OF THE COASTAL
BEND FOR THE F'~ 2003 SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICES,
ELDERLY NUTRITION PROGRAM IN THE NO. '1067 PARK AND
RECREATION GR/~,NTS FUND; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That a grant of $803,589 from the Area Agency on Aging of the
Coastal Bend for the FY 200:~ Senior Community Services, Elderly Nutrition
Program is appropriated in the No. 1067 Park and Recreation Grants Fund.
SECTION 2. That upon writt~en request of the Mayor or five Council members,
copy attached, the City council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the
need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration
of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of
and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is
p~,s~.,.~d and take~effe~ct upon first reading as an emergency measure this the
day of ,2003.

emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and

at the present meeting of the City Council.
