APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON MAY 20, 2003 (025309); AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CI~I'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is approl~riated Seven Million, six hundred, eighty-five thousand,
seven hundred and fourteen Dollars ($7685,714) in the CDBG Grants Fund No. 1059 for
the FY 2003 Consolidated Annual Action Plan for Community Planning and Development
Program projects/activities that include 1) $4,219,000 for FY2003 Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects, $700,000 of program income, and $734,152 of
reprogrammed funds; 2) $170,000 for FY2003 Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) activities;
and 3) $1,862,562 for FY2003 Home Investment Partnership (HOME) Program for
projects/activities approved by City Council on May 20, 2003 in Ordinance No. 025309.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for
immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and
(2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at

emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and

at the present meeting of the City Council.
