APPROPRIATING Ai RENEWAL GRANT WITH THE TEXAS
DEPARTMENTOF HIEALTH IN THE NO. 1066 HEALTH GRANTS
FUND IN THE AMI)UNT; OF $600,000 FOR THE WOMEN,
INFANTS AND CHII.DREN (WIC) PROGRAM FOR FY 2004,
BASED ON A '10.45 REIMBURSEMENT FOR EACH
PARTICIPANT SERVED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That a renewal grant with the Texas Department of Health is
appropriated n the No. 1066 Hea th Grants Fund in the amount of $600,000 for
the Women, Infants and Children 0NIC) Program for FY 2004, based on a $10.45
reimbursement for each partilcipant served.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members,
copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the
need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration
of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of
and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is
