APPROPRIATING $19~,581 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE,
BUREAU OF JUSTIC~ASSISTANCE, IN THE NO. 1061 POLICE GRANT
FUND TO PURCHASE LAW ENFORCEMENT EQUIPMENT FOR THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND APPROPRIATING $22,065 FROM THE NO.
1061 LAW ENFORCEI~ENT TRUST FUND AS THE GRANT MATCH; AND
DECLARING AN EMEI~GENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CI~'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That $198,581 is appropriated from the U.S. Department of Justice,
Bureau of Justice Assistance,, in the No. 1061 Police Grant Fund to purchase law
enforcement equipment for the Police Department.
SECTION 2. That $22,065 is appropriated from the No. 1061 Law Enforcement Trust
Fund as the grant match.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for
immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs
and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon
ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance i,s passed and takes effect

emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and

at the present meeting of the¢ity Council.
