HomeMy WebLinkAbout025514 RES - 10/14/2003RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE, TO SUBMIT A HAZARDOUS MATERIALS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLANNING GRANT APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, IN THE AMOUNT OF $22,400 FOR PUBLIC AWARENESS BROCHURES, PRODUCTION AND BROADCAST OF INFOMERCIALS, AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE DRILL, AND TO UPDATE THE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INFORMATION IN THE TIER II DATABASE, WITH A CITY MATCH OF $5,600 IN THE NO.6060 LEPC FUND, AND A TOTAL PROJECT COSTS OF $28,000 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, is authorized to submit a Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Planning Grant application to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management, in the amount of $22,400 for public awareness brochures, production and broadcast of infomercials, an emergency response drill, and to update the hazardous materials information in the Tier II database. The City match for this grant is $5,600 in the No. 6060 LEPC Fund, for a total project costs of $28,000. SECTION 2. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, may accept, reject, agree to alter the terms and conditions, or terminate the grant, if the grant is awarded to the City.
