HomeMy WebLinkAbout025543 ORD - 10/28/2003ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $546,500 IN UNAPPROPRIATED INTEREST FROM WATER CIP FUND NO. 4082 (1995 REVENUE BOND) FOR THE DESIGN, IMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION OF AN AUTOMATED METER READING/WIRELESS BROADBAND NETWORK PILOT PROJECT FOR THE WATER AND GAS SERVICES DEPARTMENTS; AMENDING FY 2002-2003 CAPITAL BUDGET ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 025144 TO INCREASE APPROPRIATIONS BY $546,500; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $546,500 in unappropriated interest from Water CIP Fund No. 4082 (1995 Revenue Bond) for the design, implementation and evaluation of an automated meter reading/wireless broadband network pilot project for the Water and Gas Services departments. SECTION 2. That FY 2002-2003 Capita[ Budget adopted by Ordinance No. 025144 is amended by increasing appropriations by $546,500. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the-.~day o~r~, 2003.
