AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR THE CITY MANAGER'S
DESIGNEE, TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF
TEXAS, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION
IN THE AMOUNT OF $72,480 FOR YEAR 5 FUNDING AVAILABLE
UNDER THE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT (VAWA) FUND FOR
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S FAMILY VIOLENCE UNIT; WITH A CITY
MATCH OF $10,180 IN THE NO. 1061 FUND, AND $14,400 IN-KIND
SERVICES; FOR TOTAL PROJECT COST OF $97,060
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, is authorized to submit
a grant application to the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice
Division, in the amount of $72,480 for Year 5 funding available under the Violence
Against Women Act (VAWA) Fund for the Police Department's Family Violence Unit.
The City match for this grant is $10,180 in the No. 1061 Fund, and $14,400 in-kind
services, for a total project cost of $97,060.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, may accept, reject,
agree to alter the terms and conditions, or terminate the grant, if the grant is awarded to
the City.
SECTION 3. In the event of the loss or misuse of these funds, the City of Corpus
Christi assures that the funds will be returned in full to the State of Texas, Office of the
Governor, Criminal Justice Division.
