HomeMy WebLinkAbout025777 ORD - 06/08/2004ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $25,000 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR FUNDING OF AN IMPAIRED DRIVING MOBILIZATION SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROJECT (STEP) GRANT FOR DWI ENFORCEMENT OVERTIME WITHIN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE NO. 1061 POLICE GRANTS FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $25,000 from the Texas Department of Transportation is appropriated in the No. 1061 Police Grants Fund for funding of an impaired driving mobilization selective traffic enforcement project (STEP) grant for DWI enforcement overtime within the Police Department. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is ~assed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 'h-day of "~n-.~, 2004~ City Secretary THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI Samuel L.
