AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITYMANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO CANCEL
(TERMINATE)THEFIVE-YEAR CONCESSION SERVlCESLEASE
(THAT COMMENCED MAY27,2001)WlTHPRINCE(MEL'S)
CATERING AT BOTH THE OSO BEACH MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE
AND THE GABELOZANO SR. GOLFCENTER;AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to cancel
(terminate) the five-year concession services lease (that commenced May 27, 2001)
with Prince (Mel's) Catering ("Concessionaire") at both the Oso Beach Municipal Golf
Course and the Gabe Lozano Sr. Golf Center; the cancellation (termination) shall be
under Section 11. (4) of the lease that gives the City the right at any time to cancel
(terminate) the lease without cause upon sixty (60) days wdtten notice to
Concessionaire.
SECTION 2. That upon wdtten request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for
immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs
and (2) suspends the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed upon first reading as an

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an
emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings. I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or
at the present meeting of the City Council.
