HomeMy WebLinkAbout025856 ORD - 07/27/2004AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CHAPTER 53- TRAFFIC, SECTION 53-250, SCHEDULE I, ONE WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS, SECTION (A-l) SCHOOL AREAS, BY ESTABLISHING A ONE-WAY TRAFFIC PA'I-I'ERN ON THE FOLLOWING STREET SECTIONS DURING THE SCHOOL HOURS OF LOZANO ELEMENTARY: 1. Westbound one-way pattern on Aztec Street between Blake Street and Osage Street. 2. Northbound one-way pattern on Osage Street between Aztec Street and Baldwin Boulevard. PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAJNED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Chdsti is amended by amending Chapter 53-Traffic, Section 53-250, Schedule I, One way streets and alleys, Section (a-l) School areas, by establishing a one way traffic pattem on the following street sections dudng the school hours of Lozano Elementary: 1. Westbound one-way pattem on Aztec Street between Blake Street and Osage Street. 2. Northbound one-way pattern on Osage Street between Aztec Street and Baldwin Boulevard. CHAPTER 53 TRAFFIC ARTICLE VIII. SCHEDULES Sec. 53-250. Schedule I, One way streets and alleys. (a-l) School areas. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause. phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 4. Penalties are as provided in Sec. 53-55 Code of Ordinances. SECTION 5. That upon written request of the Mayor or five council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 27th day of July, 2004.
