HomeMy WebLinkAbout025983 ORD - 10/12/2004 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $1,000.00 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IN THE NO. 1063 EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT GRANTS FUND FOR ENHANCED HURRICANE RELATED PUBLIC AWARENESS AND EDUCATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $1,000.00 from the Texas Department of Public Safety Division of Emergency Management is appropriated in the No, 1063 Ernergency Management Grants Fund for enhanced hurricane related public awareness and education. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular rneetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure on this the 12th day of October, 2004.
