HomeMy WebLinkAbout025992 ORD - 10/19/2004 ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $207,080.92 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, U.S. ATTORNEY'S OFFICE, SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF TEXAS FOR A PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS GRANT IN THE NO. 1061 POLICE GRANTS FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That a grant in the amount of $207,080.92 is appropriated in the No. 1061 Police Grants Fund from U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Texas, for a Project Safe Neighborhoods Grant in the No. 1061 Police Grants Fund. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is pa~sed an~;tt~ ,effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the .rt:"dayof' '2004.
