RESOLUTION
ENDORSING THE RECOMMENDED FY 2006-2008 TRANSPORTATION
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM ("TIP") OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI
METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION
WHEREAS, the Transportation Improvement program ("TIP") consists of street
improvement projects funded by Metropolitan Mobility federal highway funds that
consist of eighty percent (80%) federal and twenty percent (20%) local sharing of the
street construction costs;
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi ("City") is responsible for one hundred percent
(100%) of utility relocation and adjustment costs and right-of-way acquisition;
WHEREAS, the use of federal highway funds is administered by the Texas Department
of Transportation ("TxDOT") with project selection subject to adoption by the Corpus
Christi Metropolitan Planning Organization ("MPO");
WHEREAS, funding for the local matching share of twenty percent (20%) plus the other
project development costs, such as design, preparation of plans and specifications,
design and construction of utility relocation/adjustments and right-of-way ("ROW")
acquisitions, will come from future General Obligation Bond Issues or other available
funds; and
WHEREAS, the Technical Advisory Committee of the MPO will meet on November 18,
2004, to consider recommending that the street and ADA projects shown in the
attached Exhibit "An ( the TIP) be adopted by the Transportation Policy Committee of
the MPO on December 2, 2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The projects shown In the attached Exhibit "A" are endorsed as the FY
2006-2008 Transportation Improvement Program ('TIP"), subject to availability of funds.
