RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR THE CITY MANAGER'S
DESIGNEE, TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE AMOUNT OF
$84,929 TO THE STATE OF TEXAS, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, FOR
YEAR 6 FUNDING AVAILABLE UNDER THE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
ACT (VAWA) FUND FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S FAMILY VIOLENCE
UNIT, WITH A CITY MATCH OF $12,182 IN THE NO. 1061 TRUST FUND AND
$9,600 IN-KIND SERVICES; FOR A TOTAL PROJECT COST OF $86,711.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1, The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, is authorized to
submit a grant application to the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division, in the
amount of $64,929 for Year 6 funding available under the Violence Against
Women Act (VAWA) Fund for the Police Department's Family Violence Unit. The
City match for this grant is $12,182 in the NO.1 061 Trust Fund, and $9,600 in-
kind services, for a total project cost of $86,711.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, may apply for,
accept, reject, agree to alter the terms and conditions, or terminate the grant, if
the grant is awarded to the City.
SECTION 3. In the eyent of the loss or misuse of these Criminal Justice Diyision
funds, the City of Corpus Christi assures that the funds will be returned to the
Criminal Justice Division in full.
