HomeMy WebLinkAbout026156 ORD - 02/22/2005 ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $225,000 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, OFFICE OF JUSTICE PROGRAMS, IN THE NO. 1067 PARK AND RECREATION GRANTS FUND FOR THE CONTINUED SUPPORT OF THE WEED AND SEED PROGRAM, SITE I NORTH FOR FY 2004-2005; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $225,000 is appropriated from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, in the NO.1 067 Park and Recreation Grants Fund for the continued support of the Weed and Seed Program, Site I, North, for FY 2004- 2005. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is f:s~ed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the ~ay of D ~JlQ4"J ' 2005.
