TERMINATION OF STATE OF LOCAL DISASTER BY
PROCLAMATION OF THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
WHEREAS, the extreme adverse affects of Hurricane Rita were not realized in the City
of Corpus Christi: and
WHEREAS, Section 418.108 of the Texas Government Code and Section 16-3 of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Corpus Christi authorize the Mayor of the City of
Corpus Christi, as the presiding officer of the governing body of a political subdivision,
to declare a local state of disaster:
WHEREAS, I, as the Mayor of the City of Corpus Christi, have determined that
extraordinary measures to protect the people and property of the citizens of Corpus
Christi were not required: and
WHEREAS, I believe that the City of Corpus Christi's Emergency Management Plan no
longer needs to be activated:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, THE PRESIDING OFFICER OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, HEREBY PROCLAIM AND DECLARE:
Section 1. That a state of local disaster that I declared on September 21, 2005 is
terminated.
Section 2. That this termination shall be filed promptly with the City Secretary, and
shall be given prompt and general publicity.
DECLARED AND ORDERED this the 26th day of September, 2005.
