ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $29,428 GRANT FROM THE TEXAS FOREST
SERVICE IN THE NO. 1067 PARK AND RECREATION GRANTS
FUND TO FUND A FULL-TIME URBAN FORESTER POSITION
FOR THE GRANT PERIOD OCTOBER 1, 2005 TO SEPTEMBER
30, 2006; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That a grant of $29,271,525 from the Corporation for National and
Community Service is appropriated in the NO.1 067 Park and Recreation Grants
Fund to fund a full-time urban forester position for the grant period October 1,
2005 to September 30, 2006
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members,
copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the
need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration
of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of
and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is
pa,ssed and takes effect,up~nfi~st reading as an emergency measure this the
