HomeMy WebLinkAbout026608 ORD - 01/17/2006AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A GRANT, ON BEHALF OF THE REGIONAL HEALTH AWARENESS BOARD, IN THE AMOUNT OF $26,250 FROM PORT INDUSTRIES OF CORPUS CHRISTI IN THE NO. 1066 HEALTH GRANTS FUND FOR ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES RELATED TO OPERATION OF THE BOARD; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. A grant of $26,250 from Port Industries of Corpus Christi, made pay- able to the City on behalf of the Regional Health Awareness Board, of which the City is a member, is appropriated in the No. 1066 Health Grants Fund for administrative expenses related to the operation of the Board. SECTION 2. Upon the written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council: (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effe4t pon first reading as an emergency measure on this the ail,. day of .!► .. .�. , 2006.
